L. Placide Canonge collection, 1842-1887.

The collection consists of three pieces of correspondence from Canonge to Leóna Queyrouze, and one from Canonge to M. Herisson of L'Abeille. All the letters are in French. Two pieces of sheet music, Le Reveille de la Louisiane and Deux Voix, (words by Canonge and music by Gregario Curto), originally part of the collection are separately cataloged.

Her father, Major Leon Queyrouze, was the commander of the Orleans Guard Battalion during the Civil War and a member of the New Orleans factors' firm, Queyrouze and Bois. Her brother J.
